Rosendo Mateu is the living example of a self-made man. This is reflected in his work and especially in his perfectionism that touches each of his creations. Rosendo has been one of the specialists at PUIG, one of the world's most prestigious perfume companies, for 40 years. During that time he has developed dozens of fragrances, which bear his personal signature and have the ambition to achieve a combination of commerciality together with the creation of a unique product.

After working for some of the biggest international brands, Rosendo devoted some of his time to more ambitious projects, such as the development of custom perfumes. Before that, he studied subjects as diverse as Greek civilization, the Roman Empire or the paintings of Francis Bacon.

It was precisely with the latter that he took on one of the greatest challenges facing a fragrance expert: to design a fragrance for an exhibition dedicated to the English painter. He spent months studying the smell of paint, canvas, humidity, and even the time Bacon lived and worked. The result gives an idea of the degree of involvement this experienced maestro takes in each of his projects.
