ACQUA di GENOVA is a classic gem of nineteenth century taste. For those able to capture and appreciate the true formulation and sophistication of a product of the highest quality, made for the king and his royal family. An Eau de Cologne that, after 150 years, retains its properties unchanged and keeps the original packaging with handmade bottles. Still manufactured one by one.
Meandering streams of light
like wisps of smoke
Wrap themselves on the hills
Of the dormant city,
Sliding towards the sea.
Genoa beautiful appears
By night too
Almost as awaiting
For the new day
Silently.
ACQUA di GENOVA was founded in 1853 for the Royal House of Savoy by the famous Genoese distiller and perfumer Stefano Frecceri. It quickly becomes a necessary accessory of every important person of the era and is used in all European royal courts. In those years, even famous statesmen, such as King Vittorio Emanuele II, did not hide their habit of using ACQUA di GENOVA to enrich their public image with a little distinction.
King Vittorio Emanuele II left in his will that by Royal Decree of 1866 Stefano Frecceri was given the right to use the Royal Coat of Arms of the House of Savoy on all his products forever.
